Hi, I’m Rachel Higginson,
I have been in education for 25 years. My aim is to support young people to develop the knowledge, skills and character to make a difference in the modern world…
I provide support and inspiration for professionals to use research and creativity to innovate our education system.
I run a 1:1 project for young people supporting them to metaphorically and physically find their voice, ‘Finding my voice‘. I also work along Mary Myatt as a collaborator on the platform ‘Myatt and Co’ , am the Primary Adviser for Uffculme Academy Trust and the Education Consultant and resident blogger for Redan Publishing.
My School Improvement work is wide ranging and has included; developing the curriculum for 2 new schools from scratch, long term curriculum and staff development work, a broad variety of curriculum innovation projects and DFE funded improvement work.
My most recent project has been working with Mary Myatt and John Tomsett on the book, ‘Primary Huh: Curriculum Conversations with Primary Subject Leaders.’ Along with Emma Turner and Lekha Sharma the team have had some incredible conversations with Subject Leaders up and down the country to create what we hope will be and inspiring and helpful resource.
‘Rachel’s session was truly inspirational. Her thought-provoking challenge and engaging, purposeful questioning facilitated deep and creative thinking amongst the staff…’
‘I was so proud of my pupil’s involvement on the, ‘Finding my Voice’ project. It is the most effective intervention/project I have ever seen in schools.
